Welcome to the website of the Faculty of Science and Engineering!

Covering all major fields of science and engineering, the Faculty is as much concerned with supporting research at the heart of disciplines as it is with multidisciplinary approaches to face the major challenges of the 21st century. Academic excellence of its faculty professors and researchers, whose work contributes to the quality of the education provided by the faculty.

The Faculty of Science and Engineering combines numerous scientific disciplines divided into six education and research units (UFR): biology, chemistry, engineering, mathematics, physics and earth sciences, environment and biodiversity, and three marine stations. It also includes the Polytech Sorbonne School, the Paris Institute of Astrophysics and the Henri Poincaré Institute.

Editorial

Sorbonne University was created on 1 January 2018 by the merger of the Paris-Sorbonne and Pierre and Marie Curie Universities. Three faculties, in Arts & Sciences, Medicine and Science & Engineering resulted from this merger.

At the head of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, the Dean, Corinne Aubert.

"I was elected Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, a success that is both an honor and a responsibility, because I am determined to both maintain—and even increase—the Faculty of Science and Engineering’s exceptional standards. Our fundamental public service missions in education and research, and the continued development of excellence, participates in the international recognition of Sorbonne University. To accompany me during my mandate, I have a dynamic and experienced team composed of six assistant deans and five deputies

In 2018, the construction of the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the establishment of its organization will provide closer exchanges between the faculty, structures and actors for more responsiveness and efficiency.

The faculty will reflect of all the people who work and study there: open, welcoming and ready to share research and knowledge to the benefit of all.

2018 will be the year that the national reform of the French APB post-bac admission system and the introduction of Parcoursup's new national pre-registration system.

Finally, with the renovation of the Pierre and Marie Curie campus, the Faculty of Science and Engineering continues to offer a campus life that is rich in cultural and scientific events and activities through our associations and sports facilities. "
