Laboratory of Physics and Mechanics of Heterogenous Environments (LPMMH) - UMR 7636

The Physics and Mechanics of Heterogenous Environments Laboratory is a mixed research unit founded in the early 1980s. Its research activities are situated essentially at the interface between engineering sciences and physics, with certain openings onto themes concerning soft matter which, for the CNRS, fall within the fields of chemistry or biology.

The laboratory has been capable of forging a real identity for itself in many of these themes, and of creating its own characteristic research style in the French landscape.
