Paris Institute of Molecular Chemistry (IPCM) - UMR 8232

Established in January 2009, the Paris Institute of Molecular Chemistry (IPCM) has a staff of 111 people, including 21 CNRS researchers and 38 other researchers. This lab was created by combining two units: the Organic Chemistry and CIM2 (Inorganic Chemistry and Molecular Materials) laboratories.

The unifying element of this laboratory is organic and inorganic that different teams have combined successfully in its most varied forms synthesis.

In the field of organic chemistry, there are five major themes for which the laboratory has gained international recognition:

  • Molecular Catalysis
  • Stoichiometric Organometallic Chemistry
  • Radical Chemistry
  • Synthesis of Heterocycles
  • New Materials

There is a particular emphasis on all aspects of asymmetric synthesis and the synthesis of molecules with a theoretical or biological interest.

The inorganic chemistry groups are dedicated to the synthesis of new molecules, original molecular systems and novel supramolecules in a logical approach that builds the molecular and supramolecular structures for their structural, chemical or physical properties.
