Les Yeux dans les étoiles

Eyes on the stars

Observing the sky to describe celestial bodies is perhaps the oldest science in the world.

Evidence of astronomical observations can be found among various civilisations as early as 3,000 years BC. At the beginning of the 20th century, astrophysics began to combine observations with physics to determine the physical and chemical properties of celestial bodies.

The naked eye requires specific and increasingly sophisticated instruments, located on the ground as well as in space.

This exhibition presents these instruments for your discovery, with a particular focus on those used in research conducted at Sorbonne University and the Paris Institute of Astrophysics (IAP)

Explore an exhibition of exceptional scientific heritage and leave with stars in your eyes.
