Strategy, organisation and funding
The Faculty of Science and Engineering brings together a scientific community of more than 3,200 research staff across its 72 laboratories, 22 research federations, 4 observatories, 2 institutes and 33 technical platforms.
The excellence of our research is above all that of our laboratories. Maintaining research at the highest level requires providing the necessary support in terms of guidance, support functions, platforms, infrastructure and premises that teams need to carry out their activities in the best possible conditions. Similarly, fostering innovation primarily requires appropriate guidance and support. Close support for research activities and structures.
Local support for research activities and institutions
The faculty acts as a facilitator for its research structures: research excellence is above all that of our laboratories. Maintaining research at the highest level requires providing the necessary support: guidance, support functions, platforms, infrastructure, premises, etc.
- Providing day-to-day support to research structures for setting up and monitoring contracts (public, European, international, industrial), advising on finding partners or funding for projects, and promoting the results;
- Encouraging the search for funding through monitoring, the publication of guides and meetings with newly recruited staffto better understand their expectations and familiarise them with the research ecosystem;
- Support project development through the APACHE(Support for Ambitious Projects for Researchers, Lecturers and Teachers) scheme, which provides guidance through the design, drafting and submission of ambitious European projects, whether individual or coordinated.
Partnership-based research
The challenge of partnership-based research is to create common ground with partners who have different priorities and objectives from those in the academic world. It involves building a shared commitment to knowledge and understanding, combining the professional expertise of partners with academic expertise. This is why the Faculty of Science and Engineering is focusing its policy on establishing genuine, lasting partnerships based on trust.
