Modeling Human Neuropathologies, a Sorbonne/Heidelberg co-production

“Modeling Human Neuropathologies, a Sorbonne/Heidelberg co-production” is an annual summer school fostering a collaborative network in neuroscience by training young researchers (senior master students, PhD students and postdocs) in innovative approaches to modeling human brain pathologies.

  • Du 06 Jul. 2025 au 12 Jul. 2025

  • 09:00 - 18:00
  • École d'été
  • Ebernburg Castle, Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg, Germany

"Modeling Human Neuropathologies" brings together Master’s students, PhD candidates, and postdoctoral researchers to explore cutting-edge and innovative approaches in neuroscience and to promote scientific exchange.

The summer school is designed to host 30 participants over the course of five full days: 10 Master’s students and 20 PhD/postdoctoral researchers. They will be joined by 8 faculty members from Heidelberg and Paris, as well as the 3 main organizers, who are present throughout the week. Additionally, a guest speaker will address broader societal topics related to science and research—such as sustainability, climate change, diversity in science, and publication practices.

The school is designed to foster scientific curiosity and promote multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches to studying brain disorders. It also provides a platform for early-career researchers to present their work and engage with experts in the field.

The program includes:

  • Scientific presentations from researchers based in Heidelberg and Paris
  • Poster sessions
  • Group brainstorming sessions aimed at integrating expert approaches into participants' own research projects
  • Group presentations of project ideas
  • A dedicated session on science and societal challenges
  • Social and networking activities

Each morning is dedicated to a specific theme with expert talks, followed by afternoon brainstorming sessions and project presentations.
