Résumé Correct estimation of magnetization curve parameters (saturation magnetization, anisotropy field etc.) is crucial for ferromagnets characterization. Here, criteria for be presented. Examinations of such loops, together with analyses for remnant magnetization (IRM, DCD) and thermomagnetic curves will be exemplified. Also, recent advances in evaluating magnetic interactions using the recently developed recoil-curve  method instead of the remanence plots are discussed. E.g., a recoil-curve plot does not demand demagnetization and is acquired in an easier and much faster manner than the classical remanence one. Applications of these techniques for characterizing magnetic nanoparticle systems will be presented as well.
