Taking a single course

Single course in initial training or continuing education

Students, whether enrolled at Sorbonne University or not, can apply for one or more single courses. All courses offered by the Faculty of Science and Engineering are available as isolated courses, except for internship courses.

Enrollment in an internship course is not compatible with the principle of a single course in continuing education: in accordance with current regulations (cf. Articles D124-1 et seq. of the French Education Code), an internship in a professional environment is linked to the student's enrollment in a degree with a minimum training of 200 hours per year.

The courses on offer are available from each training department.

Requests for enrollment in individual courses must be made at least two weeks before the start of the course. It is not possible to start a course without proper administrative enrollment. If a student is found to have taken part in an examination, no retroactive administrative enrollment can be processed, and it will not be possible to declare the student's results.

There are three categories of single courses.

Attention : For summer courses, please send an e-mail to the Department of Marine Sciences.

Anyone (employee, job-seeker, etc.) whose goal is to acquire additional knowledge or improve their skills without necessarily obtaining a diploma, can choose à la carte courses. The Continuing Education Department can help you design a short course according to your needs, in line with your professional project (career development, professional reorientation, etc.). Candidates can enroll for single Teaching Units (TUs) through the Continuing Education Service, and then choose the TUs that interest them from the bachelor's or master's courses offered by the Faculty of Science and Engineering, either face-to-face or by distance learning, excluding those for internships*.

Thanks to the organization of our courses into teaching units, you can create a modular, personalised course and progress at your own pace. On average, a course (UE) represents 40 to 60 hours of face-to-face or distance learning courses over a semester.
