Promoting your student commitment
Sorbonne Université recognizes and encourages student commitment in all its forms. That's why, at the Faculty of Science and Engineering, you can make the most of your volunteer work, whether at university, locally or nationally. Whether you're a member of an association, a student worker, an artist or a top-level sportsman or sportswoman, you can validate this investment as part of the Student Involvement course, with ECTS credits awarded and recognition in your degree.
The scheme is open to a wide range of profiles, to give the best possible recognition to the diversity of commitments. Students from the Faculty of Science and Engineering can apply in three categories: associations, student employment and top-level artists or sportspeople, as well as entrepreneurs!
Here are the levels of recognition for students involved in an association:
A first level, called "invested", recognizes the commitment of all students involved in associative life. A range of optional courses are available to deepen these skills (covering topics such as how to communicate with associations, how to add value to a commitment in one's curriculum vitae, and how to set up an association step by step, etc.).
This level earns 3 ECTS credits.
A second level, called "expert", is designed to validate the skills of students who are particularly committed to a long-term associative project - be it the creation of an association, the implementation of a substantial project, advanced administrative management, etc. This level, which assesses a student's level of commitment to an association, is designed to validate the skills of students who are particularly committed to a long-term associative project - be it the creation of an association, the implementation of a substantial project, advanced administrative management, etc. This level, which enables students to assess their commitment in greater depth, will be an opportunity for them to produce a report on their involvement, its various contributions and its professional enrichment, with the help and guidance of teachers and professionals.
